'Stuck In This Place Now' is a song that I wrote after moving to the city (Perth) to study music at the Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts. It was my first time moving out of home, leaving my regional town (Bunbury) and living a 2-hour-drive away from my family. I was living in a share house, struggling to get Centrelink and feeling extremely burnt out from studying full-time whilst trying to work to pay for rent and bills. Releasing this song now feels extremely fitting because I had planned to be starting off 2021 with my first national tour. I had won a prize from the National Campus Music Competition to record at the iconic Grove Studios in New South Wales and was going to combine this trip with shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. However, as I am now quite literally 'Stuck In This Place Now', I will instead be doing my second Western Australian Tour. This will be my biggest tour in WA to date, with headline shows and festival slots booked in Esperance, Albany, Margaret River, Bunbury, Mandurah, Fremantle and Perth. I will be taking special guests Joan & The Giants on tour with me and will be having a local support act from each regional town open every show.
